Over the course of the Live Connected, Lead Change capital campaign, which concluded in December 2018, many highlights include generous philanthropy from organizations who supported a wide range of College priorities. In looking back as we celebrate the opening of the Rockwell Integrated Sciences Center, for instance, it is gratifying to recall the early contributions of the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and the Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI). The Mellon Foundation supported the creation of the Environmental Science and Studies Program, one of a very few such combined programs offered by the country’s elite undergraduate colleges. HHMI assisted the College’s biology faculty in deploying new approaches to teach and mentor students in order to bolster their success. These activities are admirably housed in the new Rockwell Center.
As Lafayette continues to grow in size and stature, we look forward to new opportunities that will serve as hallmarks of distinction for the College. Your partnership with us makes it all possible, thank you!
