Skillman Library is now making the resources of the world-renowned Loeb Classical Library accessible to the extended Lafayette community.

The digital Loeb Classical Library is an interconnected, fully searchable, perpetually growing, virtual library of all that is important in Greek and Latin literature, including epic and lyric poetry; tragedy and comedy; history, travel, philosophy, and oratory; the great medical writers and mathematicians; and more. The Greek and Latin Classical heritage is represented with up-to-date texts and accurate English translations in a modern and elegant interface that allows readers to browse, search, bookmark, annotate, and share content with ease.

Access to the Loeb Classical Library is being made available through a gift to the College from Jeffrey E. Fiddler ’63 in honor of the late W. Edward Brown, whose career as a professor of Greek and other languages at Lafayette spanned six decades. The College awarded Brown the honorary degree of Doctor of Humane Letters in 1974.

The library is available at http://0-www.loebclassics.com.libcat.lafayette.edu/. A Lafayette network ID is required to log in. Alumni who wish to obtain an ID should visit http://help.lafayette.edu/faqs/alumni.
